Celebs Cara Delevingne and Leonard DiCaprio flock to Coachella Festival

A-list celebrities can’t seem to get enough of the Coachella Valley Music & Arts Festival in Palm Springs, California. Leonardo DiCaprio, with new girlfriend, Calvin Klein model Toni Garrn, was spotted busting some serious shapes watching MGMT and Beyonce and Jay Z rocked out to Skrillex’s set in the Sahara tent. Cara Delevingne, ever the party animal, also attended the festival with sister Poppy. The pair posted various photos on Instagram of themselves arriving at the event by helicopter before partying the weekend away.

The tragic death of Peaches Geldof

talkingAny death in celebville always causes shock and speculation and none more so than the sudden and, so far, unexplained demise of Peaches Honeyblossom Geldof on 7 April 2014. Young mother, wife and daughter of Bob Geldof and the late Paula Yates, 25-year old Peaches was never the partying ‘It’ girl you so often see falling out of exclusive London clubs. She spent several years as a columnist for The Daily Telegraph then The Guardian commenting on socio-political issues. Peaches also wrote and presented her own TV documentary Peaches Geldof: Teenage Mind in 2005 and in 2011, she presented a six-part series on ITV2 called OMG! with Peaches Geldof, a magazine-format chat and guest show with audience participation.

But it seems that the young Geldof girl never truly grieved for her mother after she passed away from a heroin overdose in 2000. ‘I remember the day my mother died, and it’s still hard to talk about it,’ she told Elle magazine last year. ‘I just blocked it out. I went to school the next day, because my father’s mentality was, ‘Keep calm and carry on’ So we all went to school and tried to act as if nothing had happened.’

All we do know is that Peaches’ final Instagram posting on the evening before her death was a photo of her and her mother, captioned simply ‘My mum and me’. As SOCIETY MARBELLA went to press, the cause of Peaches’ tragic death, at only 25 years old, was still unknown.

Bad boy James Arthur

It’s been a bumpy old road for X Factor winner James Arthur who won the talent show back in 2012. Amidst Twitter slurs, homophobic rants and lyrics that seem to promote terrorism, it is hardly surprising that rumours have been circulating that say the 26 year-old has been dropped by his record label, Syco. Speaking to Heat magazine, Simon Cowell commented, ‘He’s still on our label. I would say to him, like I would say to any artist ‘you won the show, you’re selling millions of records - be happy’. We couldn’t agree more!

Victoria Beckham turns 40

The fashion designer-cum-Spice Girl celebrated her 40th birthday last month and what better way to spend the big day than a stay at an exclusive spa resort in the Grand Canyon – oh, and a dinner at elite eatery Nobu in Los Angeles? Victoria and David, her husband of nearly 15 years, were spotted leaving the A-list haunt alongside celebrity pals, Gordon and Tana Ramsay. To many, this may seem a rather staid affair for such a landmark birthday but Victoria apparently favours a dinner with a small group of her closest friends and family to any big birthday bash. A source told The Sun: “Victoria wanted family time so it has been kept very intimate and low key. Their lives are 100 miles an hour so she wanted to be away from the limelight and city life as they have that all the time.”

Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin split

Yet another shock in the world of celebrity was the announcement that Chris Martin, 37 and Paltrow, 41 have decided to divorce. The couple, who have been together for 10 years, have two children Apple, nine and Moses, seven. In a statement issued by the pair, they said that they are and “always will be a family, and in many ways we are closer than we have ever been. We are parents first and foremost, to two incredibly wonderful children and we ask for their and our space and privacy to be respected at this difficult time.” Such situations are always that much harder when played out under the celebrity spotlight so we hope the family can get through it with relative ease.

Lindsay Lohan ‘meltdown’ on own reality show

Rarely out of the headlines these days, some may have been fooled into thinking that LiLo’s new documentary series was an attempt to repair her tarnished image. Unfortunately, the series led by the Oprah Winfrey has done the exact opposite. In the final episode, Lindsay reveals she recently suffered a miscarriage and begins to sob on camera. The eight-part reality show has also shown the 27-year old actress open up about her so called ‘sex list’ amongst other trashy revelations. Oprah is said to be furious with Lindsay’s behaviour and has pulled the plug on a second series.
