A decade of Soothing Sunrises, Spectacular Sunsets & Fantastic Food
If beachfront dining with uninterrupted sea views is your thing then you have probably already experienced the year round delights of Besaya Beach on the Golden Mile.
This perennially perfect restaurant is about to celebrate its tenth anniversary and is the go to venue for anyone looking to impress potential dining companions. On our visit, the terrace was full of budding business types closing deals and early winter sun-seekers not yet ready to call time on their summer tans.
Once inside and seated, our Mexican, English and Russian triumvirate perused the extensive offering and collectively agreed on sharing two salad starters, the aptly named King Crab and an equally regal crown of langoustine avocado and mango. For our fish courses we sampled the delightfully flaky grilled hake served with wok vegetables and wild rice followed by a whole sea bass baked in salt, skilfully unveiled at the table.
Time to step ashore and sample a ground offering in the shape of a prime cut Beef Sirloin presented on a hot stone and served with home made chunky chips and accompanying dipping sauces. As with practically every other food review in the last 15 years this was about the time that we realised we had ordered too much food, but as the late afternoon sun dissipated along with most of its staunchest worshippers from beach and terrace (there were still people swimming in the sea), my companions and I agreed that it would be unprofessional not to be in a position to report on the dessert offering and so reluctantly (ahem) ordered the assorted chocolate textures comprising all sorts of velvety delights and a lemon pie (for colour purposes of course).
Seven dishes later with bellies full and belts loosened we bid our fond farewells before waddling off into the impending sunset.
