The Immortalists
If you were told the date of your death, how would it shape your present?
Imagine being a kid, sneaking out of your family home with your siblings to go and visit a gypsy woman who is said to be able to predict the day you die… Based in 1969, in New York City, word has spread about a mystical traveling psychic and once you’ve met her, she tells you ‘your date’. When you make it back home does life simply just go on? Will you believe this prophecy? Will it influence the way you live? Can you handle it? - This is a story of a Jewish family featuring 4 siblings and their mother. Each chapter tells a story of one of the sibling’s lives and how it progresses. A beautifully written novel, and for a book so focused on death, there’s a tremendous amount of life and living within these pages.
